Camera 101

I bet you thought this post was going to be about all the stuff I taught myself about my new camera! No. It isn't. So far I've only done the point and shoot "Auto" photo! But here are few anyway...
I love that you can see the light around the clouds!

I used the macro setting to take a close up of the grass. Yes I love this picture of the grass!

  1. There's nothing wrong with the automatic setting. When going manual you have a to have a light meter, either in the camera or hand held, then you just adjust the "F-stop" and aperture setting according to what the light meter tells you. I like auto much more.

Love the new name and all the pics

  2. Ya know Christy let me borrow some Ansel Adams books on photography. I could let you have them, maybe they will help ya with your foray into the world 'o lenses and lights.

Also, why did we never go downtown whenever I lived there?

    Sincerely,
    Left out in Louisiana

  3. Dear Left out in Louisiana,

I would love the Ansel Adams books. And since you live around the corner, I would be happy to pick your butt to go for a ride and I will take you downtown. I need a picture taking excursion so we should scout a location. How bout Avery Island. We'll get some Tobasco Sauce while we're there...

  4. Dear wingnuts in Louisiana,

Please send the hubby trainer some tobasco if you go to Avery, and I think I have photography books in my armoire at home. They would be on bottom shelf toward the back if I do. Ansel Adams will melt your brain with the math involved in getting the proper exposure for the shadow you do/do not want and what shade of black it should actually be and how much you should push development process to achieve all of these equations rolling about in your coconut....aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh.......USE AUTO SETTING...Thank you baby Jesus for digital cameras

  5. Your "Spicy From Louisiana Care Package" will be sent fo sho. And I got tired of all that technical mumbo jumbo before I got to the end of the sentence. That may be a bit deeper than I'm interested in delving. Is that how you spell delving? Feels wrong. I will go dig through books though! Thanks!
